692 Reviews Did Not Happen by Accident — Ravi Somayazula, DO

Dr. Ravi explains why asking is only one part of the review strategy.

Hello, and welcome to “Beauty and the Biz,” where we’ll discuss the business and marketing side of plastic surgery.

As always, I’m your host, Catherine Maley, author of “Your Aesthetic Practice – What Your Patients Are Saying.” and consultant to plastic surgeons, helping them get more patients and more profits.

Ravi Somayazula, DO explains how the 692 reviews he’s received for his plastic surgery practice did not happen by accident.

Surprisingly, a good surgical result does not automatically produce a 5-star review.

Subsequently, Dr. Ravi Somayazula discovered why reviewing happens or does not happen. Notably, he is a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of “Body by Ravi Plastic Surgery and Associates”, “Rise Medspa” and a surgical center in Houston.

Typically, the experience may still feel transactional when the patient pays, has surgery, gets a good result and leaves.

Consequently, the patient is satisfied. However, they are not moved enough to stop and tell the world about it.

Currently, Dr. Ravi has accumulated nearly 700 Google reviews. Specifically, his approach is surprisingly personal because he asks patients himself.

Initially, he delegated review requests to his staff. Unfortunately, very little changed.

Then, he began asking patients directly. Consequently, they finally responded.

However, he makes an important distinction. Essentially, the request works only after the practice creates an experience worth talking about.

Therefore, watch this week’s “videocast” to discover how “692 Reviews Did Not Happen by Accident”. Specifically, you will learn:

  • First, why review volume reflects the entire patient experience.
  • Secondly, how detailed reviews revealed recovery as his strongest differentiator.
  • Additionally, why patient language can shape signature procedures and marketing messages.
  • Finally, how AI searches are already sending prospective patients to his practice.

Eventually, Dr. Ravi discovered what patients value. Next, he built his marketing around what they repeatedly said.

Consequently, their feedback created stronger positioning, better social proof and more organic visibility.

Furthermore, I also explain why winning practices build long-term relationships. Ultimately, these relationships lead to repeat visits, referrals, videos and patient support.

Conversely, they avoid treating every surgery as a single transaction.

Additionally, you do not have to learn every practice growth lesson the hard way.

Recently, my new book, “Plastic Surgery Practice Growth Playbook”, was released. Specifically, it shows you what successful surgeons have learned about marketing, conversion and leadership.

Moreover, it teaches building a practice that can grow beyond them.
