Unlimited Paid Time-Off — with Lauren Umstattd, MD

Hello, and welcome to Beauty and the Biz where we’ll talk about unlimited paid time-off. In addition, we also discuss the business and marketing side of plastic surgery, in general.

I’m your host, Catherine Maley, author of “Your Aesthetic Practice – What your patients are saying”. Also, I’m a consultant to plastic surgeons, to get them more patients and more profits.

Presenting today’s episode titled, “Unlimited Paid Time-Off — with Lauren Umstattd, MD”.
Specifically, in this installment of Beauty and the Biz, I interviewed Lauren Umstattd, MD. Chiefly, we focused on her innovative approach to employee benefits, particularly unlimited paid time-off. Furthermore, Dr. Umstattd explained her rationale behind offering this benefit, highlighting its positive impact on employee morale and satisfaction.

Additionally, she discussed the boundaries and expectations she sets around unlimited time-off. Explicity ensuring that productivity and patient care are not compromised.

Additionally, Dr. Umstattd also shared insights into her advertising strategies, the challenges of operating on close acquaintances. Also, she shared on the importance of maintaining work-life balance.

What’s more, we also discussed, in additional to unlimited paid time-off:

  • Social media marketing tactics, including the effectiveness of platforms like TikTok.

Dr. Lauren Umstattd is a facial plastic surgeon who grew up in Kansas City, completed a majority of her training at the University of Missouri, and graduated with honors, all while competing as a Division 1 Gymnast.

She did a fellowship with renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Langsdon in TN, who is the past president of AAFPRS. She then returned to Kansas, where she bought land and built out her new practice from scratch, while also raising a couple of kids with her husband.

I had Dr. Umstattd on “Beauty and the Biz” back in February 2022, and I wanted to check back in with her to see how things are going.
