Hello, and welcome to “Beauty and the Biz,” where we’ll discuss running a one-room, one-woman, $1 million gross practice. Additionally, we’ll discuss the general business and marketing side of plastic surgery.
As always, I’m your host, Catherine Maley, author of “Your Aesthetic Practice – What Your Patients Are Saying.” Furthermore, I’m also a consultant to plastic surgeons, helping them get more patients and more profits.
Presenting today’s episode titled, “One Room, One Woman, $1 Million Gross — with Sinehan Bayrak, MD.”
First, imagine running a thriving plastic surgery practice without traditional staff. Instead, you handle everything with automation and Instagram. Consequently, you’re fully booked months in advance.

Specifically, that’s exactly what Dr. Sinehan Bayrak, a facial plastic surgeon in Philadelphia, has done. In fact, her story amazed me at the annual AAFPRS conference when she gave a talk titled:
“1 Room, 1 Woman, and $1 Million Gross”
- Initially, she built her practice from scratch in Philadelphia. Notably, she knew no one.
- However, she quickly realized hiring and managing staff wasn’t the right fit for her.
- Therefore, she invested in automation and social media. As a result, it worked.
Now, her entire practice operates online:
- Appointments are booked digitally
- Communication is via text-only (no phone calls!)
- Quotes and payments are fully automated
The result? She’s booked 3-4 months in advance. Moreover, she has a waitlist of patients eager to see her.
In short, if you’ve ever wondered how to run a lean, profitable practice in today’s tech-driven world, you won’t want to miss this.
